After a month of planning, the big day finally arrived: an e-commerce and lifestyle photoshoot for Valentina’s brand, TowelEase. As a photographer, shooting for small fashion and lifestyle brands is one of my biggest passions. Being a small business owner myself, I really connect with these clients and love being involved in the full journey: from planning and creative direction, to capturing both photo and video content, and finally editing the finished gallery. There’s nothing better than seeing a brand grow with the help of imagery we’ve created together.

Combining E-Commerce Photography with Video Content

We shot on a perfect, sunny Monday morning at Currumbin on the Gold Coast with Marianna as our model. I’ve had the chance to shoot with her before in Byron Bay and instantly knew she’d be the perfect fit again. Marianna and I work so well together because we share a really similar creative vision, she gets the vibe I’m going for and brings it to life so perfectly. It makes the whole process feel more like a collaboration than just a photoshoot, which always shows in the final images.


The shoot kicked off with e-commerce product photography and video content at the car, with the sparkling beach as the backdrop - the ideal setup to showcase the towels in a fresh and authentic way. This shoot was a little different for me with video content being just as much of a focus as photography. It was such a fun creative challenge, and it reminded me of how powerful it can be to capture both mediums side by side.

Photography on the Gold Coast & the Energy Behind a Successful Lifestyle Shoot

After wrapping the car-side content, we headed down to the sand for more e-commerce, brand photography. Currumbin is such a versatile location to shoot at - I even climbed up onto the rocks to capture some amazing bird’s-eye-view product shots that really highlighted the towels in a way I really loved.


What really stood out about this shoot was the energy. Valentina and her partner/assistant brought such a warm and playful vibe - we were laughing, joking, and enjoying every part of the process. I’ve learned that the energy a brand owner brings really sets the tone for the whole shoot, and this one was nothing but positive.

Finishing the Day with Surf, Sun & Lifestyle Inspiration

Once we wrapped, Marianna and I couldn’t resist jumping in the ocean for a swim, surf, and catch-up - and of course, we had the perfect opportunity to test out our gifted towels. Safe to say, I’ll be packing mine for every surf and swim session from now on!
