Shooting for Ghanda Clothing

When Mia reached out about shooting together for a gifted Ghanda Clothing haul, shooting a surf style look - I didn't need much convincing...at all. Ghanda happens to be one of my all-time favourite labels, and their latest collection is exactly what I love to shoot: nostalgic, sun-soaked, effortlessly surf and skate-inspired pieces that feel like summer in clothing form.

The Vision

This collection in particular, leans into that laid-back coastal aesthetic, think retro surf culture meets golden hour energy. It's a style I absolutely love and one I get a lot of inspiration from, so from the moment I saw the pieces, I already knew the images I wanted to create.

Golden Hour at Rainbow Bay

If you've read my first blog post, this one will feel familiar: Rainbow Bay (Snapper Rocks) is my go-to for anything surf, tropical, or nostalgic, and for good reason. Surfers dot the lineup in every direction, the iconic "From Where You'd Rather Be" surf club sits proudly on the headland, and as the sun dips behind Greenmount Beach, the light turns absolutely golden. There's quite literally, nowhere else I'd rather be for a shoot like this!

The Crew

For this one, I brought along one of my best friends - Anika, as on-set assistant, and honestly, I don't know why I waited this long. Having an extra set of hands made the whole day smoother: she handled the reflector, captured behind-the-scenes content for both me and the client, and helped manage gear between locations. From here on out, an assistant will be offered as an additional service for BTS content, gear assistance and everything in between.

And then there's Mia. From the moment we met, she was the embodiment of the Ghanda girl, a surfer, relaxed, funny, and an absolute dream to work with. She even brought her surfboard and skateboard to the shoot, which made for some of my favourite frames of the day.
